Jonathan has the resources to step in should there ever be a conspiracy to replace TMBG’s John Linnell—the voice, the witty and tuneful writing—and he’s got plenty of lyrics handy, should it come to that.
And his username is an anagram, which is, like Obsession, completely delightful.

In 1998 I began writing a lyric each day. I stopped after 1001 songs. "Obsession" was inspired by a therapist suggesting my project indicated an "obsessive" nature. I recently started again, and intend to write 10,000 consecutive songs. If I persist this will take over 27 years.
Am I obsessed with the manufacture of verse
am I under a spell, a voodoo curse
does it all root back to my childhood days
or a summer long lost in a smoke-filled haze
I confess obsession with many things
God and watchworks and Saturn's rings
I've been recycling rhymes a long time it's true
but I'm still trying to rhyme my way back to you
I've got a jones but that's not what I mean
I've gotta wash till my hands feel clean
I've gotta sing till the words are gone
so hey, today, another song
Someday I'll snap, smash through the barrier
the unknown terrifies but the alternative is scarier
to find at last the plenum or the void
someday when my obsession is destroyed
