Nahum Tate
Aidan sent me two tracks when I was auditioning submissions for the album. One was Paternity at Last, and the other was a beautiful recording called The Wedding Song.
Paternity at Last was shorter. On a tight-for-time compilation project, that was the only means by which I could manage to choose.
Words and music by Aidan & Nate Kilker

Wake me baby, there ain't too much forever left
Help me slip my crucifix 'round the cold, bony neck of death
If I admit my lust for you, could you fill in the rest?
Maybe let 'em lay your spine down at midnight next to mine
So I can watch you rest
Worry baby, whether God is three or one
Don't worry 'bout me I'm a train man's son's son
I'm scared of death, I guess, like the fool in everyone
But in Heaven's holy place, every room there has your face
Shining in like the sun
I think about paternity at last
Reasons to think about paternity at last
You'd show me bad things, but you're sure I've seen enough
In my reflection in that deep dark bloody cup
If I had hooves for feet I could never howl enough
To drown down all the lies, to shut down all the spies, and close up all the thighs
That ate us up
I think about paternity at last
Reasons to think about paternity at last
Like I can't stand you
Baby, I can't stand you
Baby, I can't stand
Baby, I can't stand
Baby, I can't stand
Baby, I can't stand you
