I’ve never coordinated anything like meficomp before, and it shows. If you’d asked me a week before this thing got started, I’d have told you I’m a musician, not an editor; and I’m a dabbler, not a follow-through-er.

I’m glad to have had the chance to stretch a bit, and thankful to all the mefites—musicians, artists, experts-at-important-things, pre-orderers and donationizers, and sundry supportive community bystanders—who have shown the enthusiasm and trust that has let me do this thing.

Track title: Song For You — [mp3 sample]
Liner notes:

Words and Music written by Josh Millard, 2006.

If I said her name, it would just be one of those songs – but these are the liners. For my then-girlfriend, now-wife Angela, who puts up with all the fucked up things about which I tend to sing.

Lyrics:

It's kinda hard to write a song for you
Because there's really nothing wrong with you
And all the fucked up things
About which I tend to sing
Don't apply

yeah, that's why
It's kinda hard to write a song for you
But that's what boys in love are supposed to do
So I'll do my best
And I guess the rest
is up to you

And if I say your name
It'll just be one of those songs
Where he says her name
And it'll end up on
Somebody's girlfriend's mix CD
But she's not you
And he's not me

It's kinda hard to write a song for you
And this one's weird but it'll have to do
You deserve a lot
But this is all I've got
for now

This is all I've got for now
